Within this newly created role, the Director, Project Management Office will have the responsibility of orchestrating the planning and execution of a global leader’s end-to-end development and manufacturing of innovative, cannabinoid-based project portfolios. This role will lead multiple extraction, formulation, product development, testing and expansion related projects in order to provide purposeful cannabis to the people. This leader will understand the context of the organization in a broader perspective and all the changes that take place outside the realm of day-to-day operations.

DUTIES:

• Establish/Institute overall approach and methodology for project management to support Valens infrastructures
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of projects
• Support and advise project management team in the development and execution of detailed project plans, including schedule, budget, stakeholder, risk and issue management as necessary
• Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
• Review overall contractual requirements for projects and specific process design methodology for individual projects
• Evaluate and improve systems and processes to effectively meet project requirements and profitability goals
• Provide coaching, guidance, direction, and leadership to the project team and project manager in relation to various issues, risks, activities, general management, and project approach
• Articulate and prioritize issues and risks to senior management and Executive leadership team and recommend mitigation strategies for decision makers

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years within a project implementation role
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent understanding of the various Cannabis Regulations and GMP a strong asset
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt to frequent change or unexpected events
• Cross-functional partnership, experience navigating across teams with objectives to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals, and objectives into project proposals
• Possess a learning mindset and be able to stay calm in high pressure situations and influence others to make decisions based on company needs
• Able to successfully obtain clear criminal record check
